Where does the name Mikmat Designs come from?
Mikmat embodies everything about an eclectic Mix & Match style, so I thought what better way to remember this than Mik (Mix) & Mat (Match)?!
Who makes all of these amazing earrings?
I do! I design, draw and assemble each pair of Mikmat earrings. I love to work with other small businesses, and work closely with a laser cutter to get all of the shapes laser cut (sometimes from other's offcuts and weird left over shapes!). They are then assembled here in the Mikmat Studio in Newcastle NSW.
Are they original designs?
Yes! All Mikmat jewellery is sketched by hand, designed and then digitally drawn before sending these to our laser cutter. I then make each item in my studio.
I have really sensitive ears, can I still wear Mikmat earrings?
I have some great friends who have tested our earrings in their sensitive ears and they have had great results! We think the combination of being super lightweight and using hypoallergenic stainless steel, means that the earring doesn't drag into your ear, while also being nickel and lead free.
You know your ears better than we do though, so if you are super sensitive, get in touch with me via email I can see what solutions I can come up with for you.
How is my order sent? And do you offer Free Shipping?
Free shipping on orders over $100 in Australia
All orders are sent out via Australia Post with options for tracking or Express at Checkout.
All orders are posted in thoughtful packaging; each item is wrapped in recyclable paper and then placed into a cardboard box. Please re-use or recycle our packaging.
Your tracking number will be emailed to you when lodged with Australia Post so you can see where it is on its way to you.
If you have any trouble tracking your parcel, please contact AusPost on 1800 101 318 before contacting us via email.
Mikmat Designs is not responsible for items lost or stolen in the mail but will try our best to work with you to find your items.
Can I pick up locally in Newcastle?
Yes, please select the Pick Up option at checkout and I'll be in touch with my address and a day that suits. I'm always happy to bring your order along to a market I'll be at too!
Do you do clip on earrings?
No sorry, I don't. I have had some customers find earring converters really helpful for this. You can check them out here.
Do you post Internationally?
Yes, to most places. Depending where in the world you are, the postage can change, but will be automatically calculated at the checkout. If you are in the UK, please get in touch. The recent changes to VAT tax post Brexit means we should chat first.
Can I be a stockist?
For all wholesale enquiries, please go to my Wholesale page and apply to stock Mikmat in your store. Once approved you will have access to further information and wholesale prices. We offer postcode exclusivity to our stockists and we would love to work with more stores Australia-wide and internationally.
